Group interface overview
The group interface allows users who have the correct permissions to view and edit groups.
You can view the group interface for a group if you have permission to view groups and you have a role that is configured to be an observer of the group. If you are also a supervisor of the group, you can modify the group including adding and removing members and adjusting the shift schedule
The group user interface uses four tabs that allow you to configure and manage your group.
The Overview tab provides an at-a-glance summary of your group. It shows the group name and description, how many members and shifts there are, who is currently on duty, and if there are any scheduled temporary replacements.
The Calendar tab displays a schedule view of a group's shifts for a single day, a week, or an entire month at a time. You can use this view to instantly see how shifts overlap, and if there are any gaps in a schedule that are not covered by a shift.
The Shifts tab displays the shifts within a group, including the members of each shift, the order that group members are contacted, and the amount of time one member is given to respond to a notification before it escalates to the next member. You can also use this page to define a shift rotation so that the group members take turns being the primary on-call responder.
The Roster tab displays the shifts schedule for each group member. From here you can verify that each group member has been assigned to the correct shifts and adjust their assigned shifts if necessary. The Roster view also allows you to add new members to the group and assign them directly to shifts.
When you assign a user to a shift using the Roster view they are added to the end of the escalation timeline. You can adjust the shift escalation timeline from the Shifts tab.
From any tab of the group interface you can change the time zone or add a shift.
The time zone drop-down list allows you to display dates and times in any time zone. Use this feature when you are working with groups that operate in a different time zone than your own, as it may be easier to adjust shift schedules using the group's local timezone.
Click the Add Shift button from anywhere within the group user interface to quickly create a new shift. After you specify a name and description, navigate to the Shifts tab to add members and set other options.
The calendar view also allows you to add a new shift directly to the calendar.
