Tracking drill-through report
This report provides detailed information about alerts, including targeted users, device delivery status, and chronological information.
The tracking drill-through report displays users that match the criteria of the drilled-through area of the parent report. If you drill through on the Failed area of the delivery status box, the report displays users for which notification delivery failed. If you drill through on a response choice in the tracking report, the tracking drill-through report displays the users that made the corresponding response choice.
You can access the tracking drill-through report by several methods:
- Click a user delivery status box (Pending, Delivered, etc.) on the tracking report.
- Click a response bar on the tracking report.
- Click the total delivery results on the report card.
For more information about the tracking report, see Tracking Report. For more information about the report card, see Report card.

You can sort the report by any column by clicking on the column heading; for example, to sort the report by user name click Name or to sort the report by date click Delivery Time.
To filter the results for users that were targeted from a specific notification stream, click Notification Stream and select the check box next to each notification stream that you want to view. You can specify users that were notified because they were targeted by the form or because they subscribed to the event.
The Notification Stream drop-down list appears only if notifications were delivered to multiple streams. If the notifications were delivered to a single stream (such as when notifications are sent directly to recipients but there are no subscriptions that match the alert) then the Notification Stream drop-down list is not displayed.

The Devices column may contain icons that represent the devices that received notifications. Move the pointer over the icon to view the name of the device and delivery details.

To export the report content to a spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel .xls format), click the Export button at the top of the report.

The tracking drill-through report makes it easy to add users to a group based on their response choice or the notification delivery status.
You could create a new group for all users that responded “I can help”, and target them with a new event that provides instructions on how to help. Another example of how to use this feature would be to create a new group for users who have not yet responded to a notification and send them another notification with a higher priority.
To add the users displayed in the tracking drill-through report to a group:
- Drill-down on the tracking report or report card to view the users with a specific response choice or delivery status.
- Click Add to Group. The Add to Group dialog appears.
- To add users to a new group, click New Group, type the name and description of the group, and click Create Group.
- To add users to an existing group, click Existing Group, search for the group, and then click Add to Group.
xMatters adds the users that are currently displayed in the tracking drill-through report to the group. If you chose to create a new group, the users are added to the default shift.
If an event is still in progress, the user's response choice and delivery status may change before the event ends. Group membership is determined by the status of the users when they are added to the group; it is not automatically updated when these values change.
