LDAP servers

If your organization uses LDAP authentication, you can set the parameters for communication between xMatters and your LDAP servers in the web user interface. Before configuring the LDAP options, it is recommended that you discuss requirements with your LDAP administrator.

LDAP authentication is not currently supported for the xMatters mobile apps. To allow SSO for the mobile apps, you can configure your system for SAML.

To view and manage LDAP servers:
  1. Log in to xMatters.
  2. On the Administration tab, in the Configuration menu, click LDAP Servers.
    1. xMatters displays the LDAP Servers page.
  1. In the LDAP Servers table, do any of the following:
    1. To modify an existing LDAP server, click its name to view its details. For more information about the required settings, see Define LDAP server details.
    2. To remove a server from the list, select the check box next to the servers you want to remove, and then click Remove.
    3. To create a new LDAP server, click the Add New link above the table, and specify the settings for the new server on the LDAP Server Details page. For more information about the required settings, see Define LDAP server details.
    4. To reorder the servers in the list, click the Move Up or Move Down button for the server you want to move. When a user is logging in, and has the "ALL" option selected for the LDAP Server field for their web login settings, xMatters attempts to authenticate the user against the listed LDAP servers beginning with the first server, and continuing down the list.
    5. To test the configuration for an LDAP server, click the Authentication Test button in the Actions column for the server you want to test. In the LDAP Authentication Test dialog box, type a User Login and User Password for a user in the target LDAP system. If the LDAP server is properly configured, the dialog box displays a confirmation message that the authentication was successful.
