Tips for working with system reports
The following sections discuss features of the system reports that can help you improve your queries and work efficiently with results. These sections apply to the Company, Audit, and Component Status reports, most of which are available only to administrators. For information about using other reports in the system, see their respective help pages.
Sort and save results
The following sections describe reporting features that allow you to sort and navigate results quickly.
You can reorder system report search results by clicking on column headings. An arrow next to the column heading indicates whether the results are sorted in ascending or descending order.
If a column includes a field below the column heading, you can type text into this field and press Enter to narrow the report results to only those rows that include that text within that column. Column fields are case-insensitive and work on a 'contains' basis: partial matches are included in the list of returned results.
On some reports, query results that exceed the specified Results per page setting display page navigation buttons below the results table. Click a page number or an arrow button to move through the results.
Export report results to a spreadsheet
Some results pages include an Export button that allows you to save the report's currently displayed results as a spreadsheet. Use a report's search and filtering options to display the results you want, and then click Export to save the current results to a CSV file.
Set refresh delay
Some reports that provide current information offer a periodic screen refresh functionality. After setting the Refresh Delay, click Start. To change the Refresh Delay, select a new delay, and then click Save Change (or Change). If you have set a very fast refresh rate, you may need to click Stop before changing the Refresh Delay.
Saving the change to the Refresh Delay rate resets the delay only for while you are on the page. If you browse to another page, the refresh stops is the rate is reset.
DTMF notifications
The DTMF protocol cannot relay failure messages back to xMatters. As a result, if a DTMF message fails for any reason, xMatters will not recognize the failure. For reporting purposes, this means that all DTMF notifications xMatters sends are considered successful regardless of their outcome.
