ServiceNow

By combining xMatters with ServiceNow, you unlock a fully automated, intelligent incident management system:

  • ServiceNow’s AI Agent Fabric detects issues quickly, and xMatters closes the loop by instantly triggering intelligent, automated workflows that mitigate or resolve problems before they impact users.
  • Dynamically route enriched alerts to the right teams based on skill set, location, or workload—no manual triage, no delays.
  • Proactively manage potential service disruptions —or avoid them entirely—before anyone ever submits a ticket.

xMatters offers multiple options to integrate your ServiceNow application, but if this is your first time integrating xMatters with ServiceNow, we recommend that you start your integration with the ServiceNow (Flow Designer) v2 workflow, which comes with more out-of-the-box features that integrate with Flow Designer and allows you to seamlessly connect ServiceNow to your xMatters toolchain.

Integrations

ServiceNow (Flow Designer) v2 This is the next generation ServiceNow integration—the workflow uses the Everbridge Flow Designer app in the ServiceNow store to become the voice and interface of an automation engine.
ServiceNow (Flow Designer) This is an xMatters workflow that uses the xMatters for ServiceNow app (versions 5.5 and above) to become the voice and interface of an automation engine. This integration is still supported but newer installations (or those looking to upgrade) should use the v2 edition.
xMatters for ServiceNow This is a direct, cloud-to-cloud integration, leveraging an xMatters workflow to become the voice and interface of an automation engine. This information is retained for existing legacy integrations only.
ServiceNow MIM This is an enhancement for the xMatters for ServiceNow integration that adds functionality for ServiceNow Major Incident Management into the xMatters notification process. Accepting a major incident will trigger xMatters notifications. Note: This is an xMatters Labs integration, meaning it is either still in-progress or experimental in nature and not supported except on GitHub.

Are you using the ServiceNow steps in Flow Designer?

Flow Designer—our drag-and-drop, visual workflow builder—includes steps to add ServiceNow to your incident resolution workflow. You don't need to do any of the setup in these sections if you simply want to use these in your flows; all you need to get started is an endpoint that targets your ServiceNow instance.
