Join a conference bridge
You can receive notifications to join a conference bridge by phone, email, SMS or text, or by the mobile app. A conference bridge (also known as a conference call), is a telephone call where more than two people can listen and participate.
The process for joining a conference bridge varies depending on the device type.
If you participate in a conference bridge for more than four hours, you will be prompted to reconnect to the call.
If you receive a phone notification to join a conference bridge, you can connect directly to the bridge by pressing a number on your keypad.
If you receive an email, SMS, or text notification to join a conference bridge, you can connect by calling the provided phone number.
The call-in information for joining a conference bridge is included in the body of email, SMS, and text messages. The instructions may include one or more call-in numbers, and a bridge number (or access code) you will need to dial when prompted. Follow the instructions provided in the email or text message to manually dial into the conference bridge.
The response options are customizable and may appear differently than the examples below.
If you receive a notification to join a conference bridge with the mobile app, the call-in information will be included in the body of the message. If the call-in number appears as a link on your phone, you can tap it to be connected to the call. You will need to manually enter the bridge number (or access code) provided in the message.
Tapping the response options does not automatically connect you to the conference call. The response is used to inform xMatters whether or not you intend to connect to the bridge. If you do not intend to connect to the bridge then xMatters may escalate the notification to another recipient. The response options are customizable and may appear differently than in the example below.
