Join a conference bridge
You can receive notifications to join a conference bridge by phone, email, SMS or text, or by the mobile app. A conference bridge (also known as a conference call), is a telephone call where more than two people can listen and participate.
The process for joining a conference bridge varies depending on the device type.
If you participate in a conference bridge for more than four hours, you will be prompted to reconnect to the call.
If you receive a phone notification to join a conference bridge, you can connect directly to the bridge by pressing a number on your keypad.
If you receive an email, SMS, or text notification to join a conference bridge, you can connect by calling the provided phone number.
The call-in information for joining a conference bridge is included in the body of email, SMS, and text messages. The instructions may include one or more call-in numbers, and a bridge number (or access code) you will need to dial when prompted. Follow the instructions provided in the email or text message to manually dial into the conference bridge.
The response options are customizable and may appear differently than the examples below.
If you receive a notification to join a conference bridge with the mobile app, the call-in information may be included in the body of the message. If it is, join the call by tapping the call-in number link on your phone and entering the bridge number or access code provided in the message. If the conference bridge is hosted by xMatters, the responses may be configured to automatically connect you to the call using the Call Me functionality to have xMatters call you to join the conference bridge.
The Call Me functionality allows you to automatically join the conference bridge without having to manually enter information or incur long distance charges. The first time you use this response, you'll be prompted to enter the country code and phone number of the device you want to use. (The app will save this number and auto-fill the field the next time you use the Call Me response.)
If you select response options to reject or ignore the notification, xMatters may escalate it to another recipient. The response options are customizable and may be different from the example above.
