Example groups
The following examples demonstrate how to use the on-call group user interface to create on-call groups useful for different situations.
This example demonstrates how to create an on-call group where members are assigned responsibility for handling incoming notifications. This type of group uses shift schedules to track who is on duty and how long they have to respond to a notification before the next group member is notified. This on-call group is used by teams that want to handle incoming incidents while reducing the number of unnecessary notifications sent to group members who are not assigned to handle them. To learn how to create a group with on-call shift schedules that notify members based on whether they are on duty and their position in the escalation timeline, see Create a group with an on-call schedule.
