This section describes the default roles that are assigned to new xMatters companies. These standard roles define the most commonly-used ways of accessing xMatters features. However, if these roles do not meet your company's requirements your xMatters representative can help you to create new custom roles. For more information about creating custom roles or functions to support special use cases, see Custom roles and add-ons.
Default roles are assigned to a company when it is created. If a default role is not available on your system, it may be because the role was defined after your company was created or because you do not have the required licensing. Additionally, if the default roles on your company have been altered (customized) they may not behave exactly as described in the documentation.
The names of these roles do not directly correlate to different types of users that may be defined in any licensing agreements. For example, the definition of a "Standard User" in a licensing agreement is not intended to match the permissions of the default Standard User role in xMatters.
